Good Friday – 3rd April 2026

Penguins at London ZooKick off the weekend with a bit of ‘egg-sploration’ at the world’s oldest scientific zoo! The Zoonormous Egg Hunt at London Zoo is a fantastic way to see the animals while keeping the competitive spirit alive. Kids can solve riddles and hunt for giant hidden eggs to win a chocolate treat. Since it’s London Zoo’s 200th birthday, keep an eye out for special anniversary history tours and the new heritage exhibition on the main lawn.

Afterwards, take a stroll along Regent’s Canal or through the glorious Regent’s Park and head toward Central London. Here you’ll find plenty of attractions, including the British Museum, the Natural History Museum and the National Gallery.

If the little ones need to run off some energy afterwards, the St. James’s Park playground is just a short walk from Trafalgar Square and has great views of the Buckingham Palace guards!

Saturday – 4th April 2026

Oxford v Cambridge boat raceSaturday is all about the Thames! The Oxford vs. Cambridge Boat Race is a quintessentially British tradition. For 2026, the Women’s race kicks off around 2:21 PM, followed by the Men’s race at 3:21 PM.

Head to the Fan Zones in Bishop’s Park (Fulham) or Furnival Gardens (Hammersmith). These are very family-oriented, with big screens and plenty of street food. Watching the sleek boats fly past while the crowd cheers is a memory the kids won’t forget!

Since you’re in West London, you can spend the rest of your day exploring the leafy streets and lovely family-run cafes of Chiswick or grabbing a riverside bite at one of the historic pubs in Hammersmith while you watch the sunset over the Thames.

Easter Sunday – 5th April 2026

Battersea Power StationSunday is for building! Head to the iconic Battersea Power Station, where the LEGO® Store is hosting the ultimate Easter experience. Let your little ones choose their own tile and bricks to create an Easter-themed design that will become part of LEGO®’s seasonal mural. Don’t forget to take a selfie with this epic mural alongside their giant LEGO® chocolate egg before heading to the LEGO® Store to find your next creation.

Battersea Power Station is a giant playground itself, with an onsite cinema, shopping and even a ping pong at Bounce Battersea. If you’re feeling brave, take Lift 109 up one of the original chimneys for a 360-degree view of the city skyline! For some fresh air, walk over to Battersea Park, home to one of the best Children’s Zoos in London, a giant adventure playground and a beautiful boating lake. Looking for a bite to eat? Battersea Power Station houses over 50 eateries

Bank Holiday Monday – 6th April 2026

Wind down the long weekend with a trip to the Walthamstow Wetlands in north London. As the largest urban wetland in Europe, Walthamstow Wetlands feels like a total escape from the city.

Throughout Easter, the London Wildlife Trust is running a special Very Hungry Caterpillar™ Trail. Kids can follow the giant sculptures around the reservoirs, learn about local wildlife and burn off that last bit of Easter chocolate energy. The Engine House Cafe has plenty of outdoor seating where you can enjoy a coffee while watching the herons and swans. It’s a peaceful, wholesome way to end your London family adventure.
