Travelodge opens its third hotel in Derby

Travelodge is delighted to announce the opening of the new Derby Cricket Ground hotel, its third hotel in Derby, creating 26 new jobs.

The perfect location for sports fans, Derby Cricket Ground hotel is right next door to the famous Derbyshire County Cricket Club, and some of the rooms on the hotel’s 3rd and 4th floors overlook the Club’s cricket ground. Sports fans are also ideally located for Pride Park Football Stadium, about a mile away, and Donington Park Racing Circuit, a 30 minute drive away.

Just under a 25 minute drive from East Midlands Airport and a 15 minute drive from the M1, business travellers will find that this hotel is in the perfect location for them. And a just half an hour’s drive from major attractions such as Haddon Hall, Alton Towers and the Peak District, not to mention being right on the doorstep of the historic city of Derby, this hotel is perfectly located for family trips too.

This hotel has a modern and spacious on-site restaurant and bar that serves breakfast and tasty evening meals, along with 100 rooms over 4 floors that all have our new, fresh design that features a comfy king size bed with four plump pillows and a cosy duvet.

A word from the Derby Cricket Ground hotel Manager

Adam Iyer was a Travelodge JuMP programme apprentice in 2011 and has climbed the career ladder to become the new Derby Cricket Ground Hotel Manager. Adam says:

“Our Derby Cricket Ground hotel has got off to a flying start. Customers are loving our new contemporary hotel design and we have been inundated with requests on how to get a Travelodge Dreamer Bed. We are enjoying high occupancy with business customers throughout the week and with leisure travellers at the weekend. Our bookings forecast for this year looks very strong with the summer period nearly full already.”
