Travelodge opens its second hotel in Bicester

Travelodge is delighted to announce the opening of its 527th hotel and our 2nd hotel in Bicester

Conveniently located just off the A41, our Travelodge Bicester hotel is just half a mile from Bicester North rail station and a 10 minute walk from the world famous Bicester Village shopping outlet. This brand new hotel, built over 4 floors, offers 24 hour opening along with 53 rooms, all featuring a comfy king size bed with four plump pillows and a cosy duvet. This hotel has created 15 local jobs via the Company’s partnership with Jobcentre Plus which helps the long term unemployed back into work.

Situated just 12 miles from Oxford and 13 miles from Blenheim Palace, the hotel is currently part of the wider development of Bicester as Britain’s newest ‘Garden City’ which also boasts one of the fastest growing economic centres in Oxfordshire.

Bicester Village shopping outlet is a significant UK tourist attraction, drawing nearly 6 million visitors a year including many from overseas, half of which are estimated to come from China. 8 out of every 10 visitors to the UK from China visit Bicester Village which is the 2nd most popular shopping destination among the Chinese, after Oxford Street.*

To add that little extra sparkle to the guests’ welcome,  the  Bicester hotel team took a crash course in Mandarin and, as Bicester hotel Receptionist Robert Vas explains:

“Learning some basic conversational Mandarin was a lot of fun; we laughed a lot as we practised, and learned how to say “Good day”, and “How are you?”. I have already spoken to our Chinese visitors twice in Mandarin since the hotel opened a couple of weeks ago and our guests were surprised and delighted and very impressed. They asked how I came to learn Mandarin and there was a real rapport between us after that conversation; it was a very beautiful experience!”
