Britain’s Best Silent Discos

Everyone loves a good old night of dancing, but how about a night of dancing with a major difference? Not only are silent discos conveniently quiet, but they also mean that you, The Party-Goer, can dictate the music you want to listen to.

They’re your chance to escape into your own little world of dance, with terribly cool and quirky dance mash-ups as a result. Silent discos have been popping up all over the country, so here is our pick of Britain’s best:

1. The Late Night Silent Disco At The View From The Shard, London

For an unmissable night piled high (310m high) with wow factor, head to one of The Late Night Silent Discos At The View From The Shard. The sci-fi looking Shard is London’s hottest new landmark. And not only will you dance the night away to RnB, dance, dubstep and hip hop, but you’ll also have the whole of London laid out before your eyes, in a spread of unbeatable panoramic views. Enjoy a perfectly mixed cocktail and even squeeze in a gourmet meal at one of The Shard’s restaurants if you’re feeling peckish. Tickets are just £37.50 – pretty good when you consider a regular trip up The Shard costs £25-£30 – and discos run on select nights throughout the year. Stay in one of London’s nearby Travelodge hotels for a night of comfort, close at hand.

2. Retro Silent Disco At Back Door, Manchester

Retro Silent Disco promises a night of dancing to all your ’70s, ’80s and ’90s favourites at one of Manchester’s coolest club nights. Put on some funky headphones and take to the dance floor to show off your best moves in a musical world of your own. Instead of dancing in unison, watch as your friends sway to Abba while you bop to The Beatles. Here’s the spot to sip on nicely priced drinks and check out who’s got the best outfit in the room. What’s more, tickets are just an incredible £4 in advance and £5 on the door, making Retro Silent Disco the perfect budget night out. Manchester makes a perfect weekend getaway for the party-ready and staying in a Travelodge means it couldn’t be easier!

3. Eden Presents Bristol’s Biggest Silent Disco and Syndicate Supperclub

Eden is one of the Uk’s biggest and best weekly student parties. They regularly hold epic Silent Discos at The Syndicate Supperclub, so whether you live nearby or are visiting for the weekend, Friday nights have never looked better. Expect a young crowd, with affordable drinks and banging beats. Entry starts at £4, but VIP tables are also available. If you’re visiting, book a room at a nearby Travelodge for a little bit of post-party rest, even if you plan on pulling an all-nighter.

Silent Discos are a guaranteed night of laughs as everyone lets loose and embraces the fact that they may look a little mad. Look out for pop-up silent discos when travelling and never miss a night of quiet fun.
