5 best places to watch the Wimbledon final in London

Love watching the Wimbledon finals, but don’t want to be glued to the box on a hot summer’s day? With our serving of the best Wimbledon screenings in London, you can rally your friends and get set for an ace Wimbledon 2023.

Wimbledon finals (singles) take place on the 15th of July for ladies and 16th of July for gentlemen, so make sure you have the advantage of knowing the hottest spots to get a slice of the action.


1) Granary Square, King’s Cross, London

Canalside seating, fine food and a cold drink. Granary Square is high in the rankings of spots to catch the Wimbledon final. BBC coverage of Wimbledon is shown each day of the tournament, so hawk-eyed fans can watch every second of the action. Renowned London street-food outfit KERB will have a food court set up on weekday lunchtimes, with food so good you’ll be going back for a second service.

If you’re not Fed-erer’d up by the end of the day, hang around to watch a film. Everyman Cinema returns with its free film festival, showing movies daily. Dirty Dancing is scheduled for the day of the ladies’ final, and Black Panther is scheduled for the day of the men’s final, so you can double up on your day’s entertainment.

2) Roof Garden, Cardinal Place, Westminster

Get away from the racket of the streets of London and retreat to the peaceful roof garden at Cardinal Place. Pack a picnic of bagels and breadsticks and let yourself relax at this ever-popular hang-out for Henman fanatics.

3) West Basin, St Katherine Docks, Tower Hamlets

Beautiful St Katharine Docks is home to central London’s only marina. Just a drop shot from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, this is an ideal location for mixing sightseeing with a spot of sport.  

A large floating pontoon is set up with deck chairs and a bar offering food and drink will be available for finals weekend. Get there early to secure your seat though, as deck chairs are first come first served. 

The pontoon is located in the West Basin – just look out for the giant white tent.

Staying in central London? pop down to St James’s Market, just around the corner from Trafalgar Square. With a big screen for full immersion and comfy deck chairs for relaxing, St James’s Market is the default location to watch The Championships.

The big screen at Exchange Square is not just up for Wimbledon but will be around all summer showing this season’s sporting highlights.
