Handsome Huntingdon

Huntingdon Racecourse is located 10 minutes from the lovely market town of Huntingdon, home to lush green spaces, historic sites and fascinting museums. Start with a relaxing stroll around Hinchingbrooke Country Park, 170 acres of open grassland, woodland and pretty lakes. National Trust Houghton Mill is just east of the town centre on the banks of the lovely River Great Ouse, and dates back to the 17th century. Huntingdon is also famous as the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell, and the Cromwell Museum houses important exhibits and artefacts relating to the revolutionary.

Huntingdon is only 40 minutes by car from the city of Cambridge, renowned the world over for its leading university, which dates back to 1209 and ensures the city is dotted with historic buildings and landmarks. The best way to take them in is with a delightful punting tour along the River Cam, from which you can see the iconic Bridge of Sighs, King's College Chapel and the stunning Wren Library at Trinity College.

Jump in the car from Huntingdon and you can be in the delightful city of Ely, famed for its ancient cathedral in just 40 minutes. Take a picnic up to Cherry Hill Park, site of the former stronghold at Ely Castle, or tour the charming steets of the old town, home to bustling Ely Market.
