Hartland's big links to the small screen

A small village in Devon around 14 miles from the port city of Bideford, Hartland lends its name to the stunning Heritage Coast which surrounds it. Arguably the most notable building in the area is Hartland Abbey, a stunning site originally built as a monastery in the 12th century which has been used as a location in TV and film including a BBC adaptation of Sense and Sensibility and the hit spy thriller The Night Manager.

Enjoy the sun on one of Bude's beaches

Whatever your reason for visiting Hartland, a trip to the coast is absolutely essential and visitors can enjoy incredible views and see a Grade II-listed lighthouse at Hartland Point. Alternatively, if you are looking to relax and enjoy some sunbathing as the temperatures soar in the summer head to the seaside resort of Bude, which is only a short drive south and home to several fantastic sandy beaches.

Fun for all of the family

If you are looking for something to keep the whole family entertained during a trip to Hartland, the Milky Way Adventure Park has attractions to suit all ages including the exciting Cosmic Typhoon roller coaster. There is also plenty of fun to be had at the Gnome Reserve in West Putford, four acres of countryside which are home to more than 1,000 gnomes and pixies. Looking for a cheap hotel Near Hartland?
