Things to do in Highcliffe on Sea

With its award-winning beaches, cliff top castle, nature reserves and independent shops and eateries, Highcliffe really does have something for everyone. History enthusiasts will particularly love the magnificent Highcliffe Castle; take a guided tour of the rooms, stroll around the beautiful grounds, or enjoy a family picnic on the lawns. From the castle you can directly access the Steamer Point Nature Reserve, a 24-acre cliff top designated local nature reserve with a mix of woodland and aquatic habitats that support a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Hit the beach

Just a few minutes walk from the village centre is Highcliffe beach, with its cliff top cafe and stunning views. Take a short drive to Mudeford Quay, a popular sailing and windsurfing destination with spectacular views out to sea.

Explore the New Forest National Park

Highcliffe is a 10-minute drive from the New Forest National Park. Its 200 square miles of open heathlands and ancient woodlands teem with wildlife, and it's a fantastic place to explore on foot, bike or even horseback. Take advantage of free entry into the New Forest Museum to learn all about the park's history, geology and ecology.
