Cheer on your team at Murrayfield Stadium

Got tickets for the rugby? This 67,000-seat venue in Edinburgh's West End is the largest stadium in Scotland.

The home of Scottish rugby hosts Six Nations matches, as well as Pro 14 and European Rugby Champions Cup games. And from time to time, it also plays host to some of the world's biggest bands and musicians. If you haven't got tickets for an event, you can always take a behind-the-scenes tour instead.

Go wild at Edinburgh Zoo

Home to more than 1,000 animals, including Indian rhinos, Asian lions, barbary macaques and Socorro doves, Edinburgh Zoo is widely recognised as one of the best in the UK.

The biggest draws are the country's only koalas and two giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang, better known as Sweetie and Sunshine. Discover just what makes them so special.

See major works at the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art

If you're into art, this excellent gallery should definitely be on your to-do list, especially as entry is free. Set in beautiful parkland close to the Waters of Leith, it showcases sculptures by Henry Moore, Antony Gormley and Barbara Hepworth. Inside, admire works by Picasso, Matisse, Francis Bacon and David Hockney.
