Haymarket Edinburgh Station

Scotland's seventh busiest railway station, Haymarket is one of two stops in the beautiful Scottish capital. Re-opened in 2013 after a 25 million revamp, Haymarket's now an airy modern space that's well equipped for the increased numbers of passengers who travel this way, either for connecting rail services, to exit from their daily commute, or to join up with the city's tram service which has a stop just outside. The station is right in the heart of the city within easy reach of some of its major attractions, such as dramatic Edinburgh Castle and Murrayfield Stadium.

What to do and see in elegant Edinburgh

Tourists flock to Edinburgh to admire the elegant architecture, grand streets and atmospheric Royal Mile. For a whistle stop tour of the capital head to Edinburgh Castle, with next door Camera Obscura a great quirky attraction. Further down the hill you'll see some wonderful old alleyways to peer down. Other Edinburgh sights such as the Palace of Holyroodhouse or the Scottish National Gallery are within walking distance, or catch a game of rugby at Murrayfield Stadium. Come evening head towards South Bridge in the Old Town for some great nightspots.
