Dedham - an art haven in the heart of Constable County

The small village of Dedham sits astride the River Stour in Colchester, Essex. It's home to stunning Georgian houses, traditional pubs and a whole lot of art history. Dedham sits in the heart of Constable County, where landscape artist John Constable spent his life. There's plenty of tourist attractions about the great artist Nearby, but more locally, Dedham is home to Castle House, the former-home-turned-art-gallery of famous equestrian painter Sir Alfred Munnings.

Set in five acres of woodland, it's the perfect place for a long walk while doing a bit of gnome-spotting - there's over 800 to find.
