Sample the flavours of Crayford

Crayford sits a few miles off the southern banks of the River Thames, in the borough of Bexley, and around a 45-minute train journey from central London.

It's only a 15-minute drive from Blue Water Shopping Centre, which has all the high street's favourite retailers and established chain restaurants. Crayford is an archeologist's dream, with the Battle of Crayford - which took place around 456 AD - leaving lots of artefacts and relics in its wake. Ancient rhinoceros bones and evidence of an Iron Age settlement has also been uNearthed at the marshes.

Up until 1985, machine guns and armory had been manufactured in the town since before the First World War, bolstering its position as a significant historical spot.

Come the weekend, Crayford Stadium holds greyhound racing, where you can bet on your favourite canines and enjoy a few drinks and casual bites as you watch them chase the mechanical hare.
