Jet-setting in Harlington
There has been a settlement at Harlington since at least the 9th century, but those early residents couldn’t have imagined what the village would be like today, located as it is on the northern perimeter of London’s Heathrow Airport. Although several important buildings were demolished to make way for runways and the M4 motorway, there are still several listed constructions around, including a number of farms, two churches and the 16th century Dower House.

It’s possible to travel into central London from Harlington via the local train service which runs to Paddington Station. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are just a short walk away, as is the Regent’s Canal and Little Venice; it’s possible to get on a boat here going to Camden.
