Get a glimpse of London as it was

The small hamlet of Longford in the far-west London Borough of Hillingdon is just full of fascinating scenes, including plenty of timber-framed houses (including King Henry's pub, which is well worth a visit) and historic bridges. There's a genuine feel of village life, with friendly locals and nice country walks. It's also very conveniently close to Heathrow Airport.

Enjoy the green and pleasant land Nearby

You might be visiting Longford as a pitstop before embarking on a trip to a faraway foreign destination from Heathrow, or you might just fancy taking in the scenery - either way, it's worth taking in the surrounding countryside. Runnymede country park, where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215, is only a few miles away, while the Colne Valley Regional Park to the north boasts plenty of green spaces.

While London is the most obvious Nearby destination - and indeed the capital does boast a huge amount of attractions and distractions - Nearby Slough is an easier commute and has a wealth of things to do and see. Windsor Castle is Nearby, as is Slough Museum - you'll be amazed at the history that the area has to offer. Legoland Windsor is also worth a visit if you have kids in tow.

Planning a trip to Longford? Travelodge Windsor Central Hotel is ideal, putting you close to the airport as well as Windsor's own attractions. Travelodge London Heathrow Heston M4 Westbound and Eastbound hotels are also worth considering, with easy access to both the airport and motorways.
