Loftus Road - QPR's battleground

One of the iconic venues of west London's Shepherd's Bush, Loftus Road is home to Queens Park Rangers' football games. First used back in 1904, the ground made history when it became the first stadium in Britain to have an artificial pitch. Holding 18,439 fans, Loftus Road has also previously been the host of rugby union team London Wasps, boxing matches and football and rugby league internationals.

Bush Hall - a hidden music gem

You'd be forgiven for walking straight past Bush Hall, which is located very close to Loftus Road. From the outside it looks like an old unloved relic of the past, but inside is a lively, atmospheric, old-school venue offering a chance to enjoy performers in an intimate setting. The present owners restored it to its music hall appearance in 2001, creating a unique night out for music lovers.

It's always gin o'clock at The Ginstitute

Just over a mile from Loftus Road, down Portobello Road, The Ginstitute is the UK's second smallest museum. But that's not to say it provides slim pickings in the interest stakes for lovers of gin. The venue reveals the history of the drink, from its origins as a medicine through to its current trendy status, and then offers visitors the chance to create their own bespoke concoctions.
