Discover a musical pier at the seaside

Around 2 miles from the centre of Bournemouth, Boscombe is a seaside resort in its own right. Its most eye-catching feature is its Victorian pier. As you wander along it you'll discover several handcrafted musical instruments lining the route - can you play a tune? A quirky modern arts trail connects the seafront and pier with the Sovereign shopping centre along Sea Road.

Burn off some energy in the Coastal Activity Park

A whole heap of fun activities await you on Boscombe seafront, which offers a lot more than your typical beach fare. Watersports include surfing and kayaking, while there's also bouldering, table tennis and beach volleyball. If you're feeling particularly zen, you can also take part in yoga and spa sessions.

Stroll through Boscombe Chine Gardens

Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this wildlife habitat with well-kept flowerbeds and large grassy areas. There's a wildlife quiz trail to keep you entertained along the pathway, as well as a water-themed playground and mini golf. In summer you can hop aboard the land train that runs along the promenade to the gardens to save your legs from too much walking. Planning a trip to Boscombe? The Travelodge Bournemouth Hotel is a stone's throw from the beach, so remember to pack your bucket and spade. Our Travelodge Bournemouth Seafront Hotel is also close by.
