A yachting haven on the south coast

Nestled in a corner of Hampshire on the shore of Chichester Harbour, Emsworth is a vibrant small town with a rich maritime history. Famous resident PG Wodehouse used many local place names for characters in his novels, and you can find out more about the town's literary connections as well as its fishing heritage at the Emsworth Museum.

Embrace the great outdoors

You can enjoy several picturesque short walks around the town, which is also the starting point for many coastal and country trails across Hampshire. Take in the wonderful views around the tidal mill ponds, and watch wildlife skipping on the salt marsh at the foreshore. Nearby Staunton Country Park is another peaceful place to relax, with its beautiful ornamental glasshouses, walled gardens and water trail. The kids can feed the farm animals, run wild in George's play barn and try to find their way out of the Golden Jubilee Maze.
