The home of the Wanderers

Known to supporters of a certain age as the Reebok, the Macron Stadium is Bolton Wanderers' home turf and is an impressive, imposing ground, with almost 29,000 seats. It tends to attract large and enthusiastic support for Bolton's home games. Outside of football it has also hosted various music concerts including shows by Oasis and Pink Floyd.

Have a wander around Bolton

The former mill town of Bolton is a rather nice large town with a wealth of history and a vibrant modern atmosphere - perhaps due in part to its proximity to Manchester, whose status in the media world has been enhanced greatly of late. The Octagon Theatre regularly stages large-scale touring shows as well as leading stand-up comedians, and the town centre's nightlife is excellent.

Pay a visit to neighbouring Manchester

Manchester City Centre is just 10 miles from the stadium, and the city is ideal for shopping, dining or a night out. And for fans of the beautiful game, it's a must - not only because of the city's famous footballing heritage, but also for its National Football Museum.

Planning a trip to the Macron Stadium? Travelodge Bolton Central River Street Hotel is well placed for both the stadium and Bolton itself. Those planning a trip into Manchester might consider Travelodge Manchester Trafford Park Hotel or Travelodge Manchester Central Hotel.
