Chessington - a World of Adventures

Just 12 miles south west of central London is Chessington, best-known for its all-action theme park, Chessington World of Adventures. With just one ticket you can visit the theme park, zoo, SEA LIFE centre and watch live shows. The zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals including big cats, monkeys and gorillas, penguins, zebras and giraffes. There's 10 differently-themed zones with 40 rides for thrill-seekers from old favourites like dodgems to watersplash rides like Dragon Falls, or rollercoasters like Dragon's Fury.

Hit the races at Epsom Downs

Epsom Downs - home of the Derby and other classic horse races - and Sandown Park Racecourses are both within easy reach of Chessington by car. Fancy a flutter? Both courses host special events throughout the year and run evening races during the summer.

Make it a royal occasion

Not far from Chessington, Hampton Court Palace is well worth a visit. As well as oodles of Tudor history, exquisite paintings and quaint furniture, see a recreation of Henry VIII's crown and the size of the kitchens needed to create royal feasts. You can also explore the maze and see the world's longest grapevine in the famous Gardens. Looking for accommodation in Chessington? The Travelodge London Chessington Tolworth Hotel is a stone's throw away. Slightly further out is the Travelodge Epsom Central Hotel.
