Explore Chessington World of Adventures

Situated in the grounds of the Burnt Stub Mansion, Chessington World of Adventures attracts over 1.5 million visitors per year from Greater London and beyond. Since opening as a theme park in 1987, Chessington has blossomed into an exciting destination for crusaders young and old, boasting an eclectic mix of thrill-seeking and relaxing experiences.

Riveting rides

Wander through 10 wonderful worlds of adventure from Pirates' Cove and Africa to Mexicana and The Forbidden Kingdom. Test your nerve on the huge selection of rides, with over 30 to choose from. Don't scream and shake as you take on the turns and dips of The Rattlesnake rollercoaster and do you dare risk a drenching on Rameses Revenge? For younger explorers and those who prefer a more leisurely pace, look no further than the magical Gruffalo River Ride. Take in the spellbinding sights as you meander down the lazy river, following the twists and turns of the Gruffalo's tale.

Fantastic animals of land and sea

If keeping your feet on terra firma sounds more appealing than a weaving water ride, Chessington's huge array of exotic animals could be just the thing for you. Having started out as a zoo in 1931, the adventure resort has stayed true to its roots boasting creatures great and small from all manner of habitats. Marvell at the magnificent colours of the lorikeets, learn about the endangered Alaotran Gentle Lemurs and monkey around in the Amazu Treetop Adventure. The Sea Life Centre showcases the best of the mysterious marine world with a range of intriguing species from the Slipper Lobster to Upside Down Jellyfish as well as the usual favourites - seahorses, clownfish and starfish.
