Motorbikes and kites in West London

Known as the birthplace of synthetic dye, this west London suburb was a big player in the chemical industry. While the dye factory has long since gone, the Heritage Centre is a reminder of the area's industrial past. In front of the building is the London Motorcycle Museum, the capital's only motorbike museum. Greenford has a Tube station so you can be in central London within 30 minutes.

Bask in acres of open space here. Horsenden Hill offers breath-taking views of the surrounding towns and home counties on a clear day, and is a fantastic spot for flying kites and enjoying a leisurely round of golf. Also Nearby is Walpole Park, with its ornamental bridges, ponds and walled rose garden. During summer a variety of festivals take place here. Opposite the park is the Questors Theatre where you can take a free backstage tour if you don't have tickets for a show.
