The Royal Free Hospital in north-west London sits just south of one of the capital's best-loved green spaces. The action is centred around West End Lane, home to the iconic Railway Pub, which has played host to gigs by Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. The Cedar is a locals' favourite, serving up award-winning Lebanese food, while West End Lane books is one of the capital's finest bookshops. Don't miss West Hampstead Farmers' Market, held each Saturday.

Just 25 minutes from Royal Free Hospital, the area around Paddington Station is perfect for families. Visit Madame Tussauds to have to picture taking with stunning waxwork models of famous faces, before heading to the renowned Sherlock Holmes Museum, located at the famous sleuth's address 221B Baker Street.
