Enjoy the greenery of Streatham Common

While Streatham, located in the London Borough of Lambeth, might be one of the best connected regions in south London, it's also worth sticking around town to visit the green and leafy Streatham Common. Alongside the vast open spaces that become filled with fashionable Londoners on hot summer days, the Common also has a formal garden called the Rookery that's worth exploring. It also hosts an annual kite day, making it ideal for the whole family.

Grab a bite to eat

The area has a growing food scene, with new cafes, restaurants and gastro pubs seemingly opening their doors every week. Highlights include the stone-baked pizzas at Bravi Ragazzi, often voted as one of the best Italian's in south London. Or for a more relaxed setting, head to the Manor Arms pub. Alongside these are the monthly Streatham Market and the annual Streatham Food Festival.

Put your skates on

Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre is home to London's only Olympic-sized skating rink. This popular venue is a great day out for all the family, with plenty of room on the ice for beginners to practice their moves. The centre also has two swimming pools and a multi-sport hall for those who aren't into skating. Looking for a cheap hotel Near Streatham?
