Things to do in Newton Le Willows
Follow the Newton Heritage Trail, a 10km circular walk, to learn about the town's rich heritage. While away a few hours in Willow Park, with its lovely kids' play area, sculptures and lake, or enjoy a spot of nature watching along the canal - also a very popular angling spot.
A day at the races
Just two miles north of Newton Le Willows is Haydock Park Racecourse, the North West's premier course. With around 30 events a year, it offers an excellent choice of top class fixtures over the jumps and on the flat. If cars are more your thing than horses, you're less than 20 minutes from the Three Sisters Race Circuit - the most versatile outdoor circuit in the UK.
Family fun at the park
Enjoy a great family day out at Walton Hall and Gardens. Roam around 32 acres of picturesque parkland for free, perfect for a picnic, or pop into the Heritage Centre Cafe. Kids will love the zoo - that's if you can drag them away from the many other attractions on offer, including the bouncy slide, trampolines, pitch n put, crazy golf and land train.
