Family-friendly cycling at Dalby Forest

Set just outside of Pickering in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Dalby Forest is an action-packed activity centre that the whole family will enjoy. Its main attraction? The 70 kilometres of cycle trails winding through the forest. From child-friendly 'green' routes to skills courses and dirt jumps, there's a trail for everyone here. Hire from the Bike Barn to get started.

Hunt for the Gruffalo or Go Ape

Cycling not your thing? There's plenty more to see and do at Dalby Forest. Test your nerve on the treetop trail at Go Ape, refine your navigation skills with an afternoon of orienteering, or try and catch the Gruffalo on the Gruffalo Spotters trail. At the activity centre, you'll find paintballing, Airsoft and even zombie hunting - not one for the faint-hearted. When you're tired out from all that running, the Forest Cafe has a selection of hot and cold food available.

The gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors

From Dalby Forest, you're a short drive to the ancient market town of Pickering. Climb aboard a steam train and travel along the heritage railway, retrace the steps of Norman kings at Pickering Castle, or simply potter around the streets of this charming town.
