Walk or cycle along the 5-mile disused railway line to the small town of Princes Risborough, keeping your eyes peeled for soaring red kites and squirrels scampering around. There are also 30 artworks to admire along the way, not to mention the stunning scenery of the Chilterns. Settle back for a well-earned coffee and cake when you reach the end of the trail.

Famed for its dreaming spires, the university city is a must-visit. Culture vultures should check out the Ashmolean Museum and Bodleian Library, both of which are free to go in.
