Textile links at the University of the West of Scotland

Although classed as a new university as it was formed through a merger in 2007, the institution can trace its roots back to the end of the 1800s to Paisley Technical College and School of Art, which has links to the town's famous thread-weaving industry. The main campus lies in the heart of Paisley, and is just a 10-minute train ride from the buzzing city of Glasgow.
