Iconic - as far as the eye can see

The National Maritime Museum, Greenwich Park, The Shard, Borough Market, the O2 Arena - these are just a few of the attractions south east London has on its doorstep. This area of the sprawling capital spreads across Southwark, close to the centre of town, out to Lewisham, Greenwich, Bexley and Bromley. It's easy to get from any of these to the famous shops, theatres and clubs of central London.

The best view ever... from The Shard

Towering over 1,000 ft from the ground, the Shard in Southwark has quickly become one of London's most recognisable features. You can get amazing 360 degree views stretching up to 40 miles over the capital from its three levels of viewing decks. Go just for the view, take a guided tour of the building or enjoy a cocktail with a view in the bar.

Glorious Greenwich Park and Museum

The National Maritime Museum is in lovely Greenwich Park, so why not combine a trip to both? It's free to get into the museum's permanent exhibition, which features the Union Jack and a cannonball from the Battle of Trafalgar, as well as lots of other ship-related objects. Then enjoy a stroll or a picnic in the park afterwards. Looking for accommodation in south east London? The Travelodge London Bromley Hotel is easily accessible for Selhurst Park and the National Sports Centre. The Travelodge London Greenwich is well positioned for the O2 Arena and Cutty Sark.
