Staffordshire University - Stoke's inspiring seat of learning

The main campus of Staffordshire University is in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent; a new Science and Technology facility was also opened in 2012 adjacent to the city's railway station. The Shelton campus has its own nightclub, called LRV, and there's a small film theatre, open to the public, situated on College Road, which hosts large lectures between showings of mainstream and independent movies.

Explore Stoke's pottery heritage

No visit to Stoke would be complete without exploring its pottery industry heritage. The perfect place to do so is the Gladstone Pottery Museum on Uttoxeter Road, where visitors can learn about the manufacture of bone china tableware and visit the last complete Victorian pottery factory in the country. You can also view demonstrations and try your hand at throwing a pot, plus there's a pleasant cafe for refreshments.

Apetastic events at Trentham Monkey Forest
