A respected university with a degree of history

The science-oriented University of Keele lies just outside Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire, and is the highest-ranked research university in the county. Aside from its reputation as one of the leading lights in the sciences, it also boasts very attractive environs, with its campus including several historic buildings and a science centre. In fact, it has the largest campus in the UK.

More than just academia

Not only is the campus very attractive, thanks to its delightful architecture and grounds, but Keele University also lies in a very favourable area. To the south is Springpool Wood, a beautiful park and garden with wayposted paths through mixed woodland, and a number of ponds and lakes. Some of the area remains landscaped, while a lot - once a part of the Keele Hall Estate - has been allowed to return to a more natural state. It's great for nature enthusiasts.
