A respected university with a degree of history
The science-oriented University of Keele lies just outside Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire, and is the highest-ranked research university in the county. Aside from its reputation as one of the leading lights in the sciences, it also boasts very attractive environs, with its campus including several historic buildings and a science centre. Some of the area remains landscaped, while a lot - once a part of the Keele Hall Estate - has been allowed to return to a more natural state. It's great for nature enthusiasts.
