See the sights at historic Addlestone

The large village - more of a town, really - of Addlestone in Runnymede is located just inside the M25, less than 20 miles south west of London. Along with adjacent Chertsey, the area has a rich history - in fact, the whole village, as well as Nearby Woburn Park was once part of the lands of Chertsey Manor, dating back to 666AD. Elsewhere, the Magna Carta was signed at Runnymede, located to the north, and there's plenty to see in this waterside meadow to this day.

Get your motor running

Brooklands Museum of aviation and motoring is housed in a former aerodrome and motor racing venue, just 2 miles south of Addlestone. Laying claim to the title of the birthplace of British aviation and motorsport, as well as the home of the Concord, there is plenty here to appeal to both kids and grown-up petrolheads.

Enjoy an English country garden

The RHS Garden Wisley is under 10 miles away, and is a must for green-fingered enthusiasts and amateurs alike. After the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, it's the second most popular gardens in the country - and it's easy to see why. Planning to visit Addlestone? If you stay at Travelodge Chertsey hotel, the village will be right on your doorstep.
