Down by the riverside...

This scenic, picturesque Surrey town on the River Thames is certainly well connected - with four trains an hour to London, taking roughly 40 minutes each way. It's an area which, as its name suggests, celebrates its position by the famous waterway. Take a stroll along the Thames towpath to Walton Marina, go on a river trip, or hire a punt. It's also worth getting a view of the 32 million Walton Bridge, which opened in 2011.

Excitement at Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park is just a 10-minute drive from town. Home to thrilling rides including Derren Brown's Ghost Train, the Nemesis Inferno rollercoaster and the super-soaking water ride, Tidal Wave. The theme park is a fantastic day out for adrenaline junkies and families alike.

Golf, cinema and theatre...

Burnhill Golf Club on the outskirts of town is a popular venue for company and charity events. For entertainment, there's the Everyman Cinema in town, and the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre where you can enjoy plays, comedy shows and art exhibitions. Planning a trip to Walton-on-Thames?
