Bagshot - punching above its weight...

It may be small - its population is under 6,000 - but this Surrey village has bags to offer visitors, particularly those with an interest in British history. Bagshot was recently the site of excavations dating back to pre-Roman times, and its historical use as a staging post for London has also yielded some interesting finds. You might be tempted to use Bagshot for the same purpose, before launching your own mission to the capital which is just 25 miles away.

London calling...

The capital is an hour's drive away, and only a little more by train, meaning its many iconic sights - from Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace to London Zoo, the Natural History Museum and more - are within easy reach. Some of the outlying attractions are even easier to get to - with LEGOLAND Windsor just 15 minutes up the A332.

Ascot - a day at the races

The famous Ascot Racecourse is just five miles north, making a visit to one of the Sport of Kings' most famous venues a distinct possibility. Even if your trip doesn't coincide with a race day, the site hosts many other events and is home to an acclaimed fine-dining restaurant if you fancy a treat. Planning a trip to Bagshot? Travelodge Camberley Central Hotel is your best bet, offering quality accommodation at a budget price. Travelodge Bracknell Central Hotel, meanwhile, puts you closer to Ascot.
