The Royals' favourite racecourse at Ascot

One of the most famous racecourses in the UK, Ascot hosts a huge 13 Group 1 horse races a year. Thanks to its proximity to Windsor and Eton, it's a firm favourite among the royals.

As well as Royal Ascot, a famous festival in June, the racecourse hosts King George VI Weekend in July, an October beer festival and a stunning fireworks display in November.

A royal welcome at Windsor Castle

At Ascot, you're just six miles from Windsor Castle, the Queen's residence when she's not at Buckingham Palace. It's the oldest and biggest occupied castle in the world - it's no wonder visitors flock from all over to see it.

Experience the Changing of the Guards, admire the lavish State Apartments, see Queen Mary's dollhouse, and learn all about over 900 years of British royal history.

Acres of beautiful countryside at Windsor Park

Windsor is home to miles of green space, from Alexandra Park on one side of the Thames to South Meadow and the Brocas Near Eton. Further towards Ascot, you'll find Windsor Great Park, a stunning landscape with over 1000 years of history to its name. Discover ancient woodlands and unspoilt countryside down the walking trails, and visit the Savill Garden for 35 acres of beautiful ornamental gardens.
