Originally opened in 1856, Ascot railway station in Berkshire is unsurprisingly just a short distance from the world-famous racecourse which shares its name. Renowned for hosting some of British horse racing's biggest events, its best known meet is undoubtely Royal Ascot. The special week of races in June welcomes around 300,000 spectators, including The Queen.

The current course replaced the old one, which was located in the middle of Ascot racecourse, in 2005.
