Boutique shops, homemade crafts and cosy tearooms

Sitting pretty just 45 minutes outside of London, Reigate is a historic market town complete with its very own mock medieval castle. With its many independent shops, pubs, boutiques and cosy tearooms, you can easily spend an enjoyable few days exploring this small town with its peaceful village-like feel.

Keeping the kids entertained...

If you're looking for somewhere the children can burn off some energy outside while you have a coffee, then Priory Park may be just the ticket. Located in the centre of Reigate, there's a cafe for the grownups and a playground (complete with Pirate Ship) for the little ones. More adventurous visitors can enjoy the zipline and climbing wall. Or if you're after a more relaxing experience, you can stroll around the lake or explore the peaceful woodlands.

Visit a mock medieval castle

Although the original castle was demolished in the 17th century, a mock medieval gateway was built over the ruins, which you can still visit today. History buffs and wannabee knights will enjoy visiting this ancient fort and the more daring visitors can even explore the caves for themselves from May to September. Planning a trip to Reigate? With the M25 and M23 both close by there are plenty of places to stay. Redhill Reigate Travelodge and Redhill Travelodge are both close by, plus Gatwick airport is 20 minutes away by car.
