Family fun

The Black Country Living Museum tells the story of the industrial revolution. Walk through a rebuilt village of shops and homes, speak to miners and blacksmiths hard at work, and enjoy a pint in the traditional village pub. Spend a rainy day at Castlegate Leisure Park, with its 14-screen cinema, bowling alley and range of family favourite restaurants, or drive over to Cadbury World, a must for chocolate lovers young and old.

Animal attractions

Home to hundreds of exotic and endangered animals, Dudley Zoo provides a great opportunity to get close to some of the world's rarest animals. Built on an ancient wooded hillside around the ruins of the 11th century Dudley Castle, the zoo also shares a site with the world's largest single collection of Modernist Tecton structures. Spot a wide variety of wildlife at Saltwells Local Nature Reserve. Wander along the marked nature and sculpture trails across 247 acres of woodlands, grasslands, heathland and wetlands. Looking for a cheap hotel in Tipton? Travelodge Dudley Town Centre and Travelodge Birmingham Dudley are both great bases from which to explore the Black Country whilst Travelodge Birmingham Oldbury provides easy access to the M5.
