Dance your way to Brighouse

Peacefully situated on the banks of the River Calder, just four miles east of Halifax, this West Yorkshire town has bags of charm. The tranquil canal basin gives way to a bustling high street, where specialist cheese and wine store Czerwik is a must-visit for foodies. The town's hidden gem is the Ritz Ballroom. Whether you're a rock 'n' roller, or prefer classic ballroom dancing, the themed nights hosted at this venue are well worth dressing up for.

Get arty at Brighouse's art galleries

Brighouse is home to two art galleries, each with a unique selling point. The Smith Art Gallery is found within the Brighouse Library, displaying authentic Victorian period paintings all year round, as well as hosting exhibitions on popular local artists. Contemporary Harrison Lord Art Gallery is a bit more modern, with sculptures, ceramics, textiles and jewellery - the very best of the area's creative talent is on display here.
