Marvel at an engineering wonder

Visit the market town of Devizes, found in the centre of beautiful Wiltshire, and you'll quickly find the Kennet and Avon Canal. The canal itself is a sight worth seeing, but there's also a marvel of engineering that shouldn't be missed; the Caen Hill Locks. The 29 individual locks are the longest continuous flight of locks in the UK. Take a trip to the locks to see them in action as a number of narrowboats float on by. Sit down, enjoy a cuppa at a local cafe and witness British engineering at its very best.

Go on your own nautical adventure

If seeing things from afar doesn't float your boat, travel on the Kenavon Venture. This colourful narrowboat was built for the public to enjoy, and can seat up to 45 passengers as it gently travels down the canal. With special music evenings, the popular 'Santa Cruise' and other special trips, the Kenavon Venture is a great way to see Devizes in a whole new light.

See the brewery's famous shire horses

Spend some time in the town centre and you'll see shire horses delivering beer to various local establishments. These horses, and the beer, come from Wadworth's Brewery, found at the north of the Market Place. As well as making beer since 1875, it also finds time to offer tours for anyone looking to get behind the scenes. Looking for a cheap hotel Near Devizes?
