Located right next to our Bournemouth hotel, the Bournemouth National Science Society (BNSS) is a registered charity museum dedicated to interest and enjoyment in the natural sciences and history. Formed in 1903, the society offers many programs of events throughout the year, such as lectures, open days, study groups, exhibitions and their monthly Young Explorers’ club. Housed by a Victorian grade II building, the fascinating museum inside houses many preserved exhibitions comprising of plants, mammals, birds and plenty of fossils. Truly a fabulous day out for the family!

Russell-Cotes Art Museum

Built in 1901 by Merton Russell-Cotes as a gift for his wife, the Russell-Cotes Art Museum and Gallery is home to a large collection of Victorian art and artefacts. With two stunning floors to explore, the venue also offers guided tours and seasonal events. As well as its stunning exhibitions and interior, the museum also has a beautiful exterior and grounds that need to be experienced. Also, a stunning place to stop for tea, the venue has a café that serves refreshments, topped with a stunning panoramic view of the coast stretching from the Isle of Wight to the Purbeck Hills.

Hengistbury Head Beach
