For a magical evening from start to finish, head to the Roof Gardens on Kensington High Street. Start the evening by exploring the rooftop gardens, which are free of charge. Magic yourself far away on a visit to the Spanish Garden, before travelling back in time to the Tudor Garden and getting lost in the English Woodland. After your adventure, visit Babylon for a delicious meal overlooking the gardens and tuck into fantastic dishes such as ale-marinated quail, organic beetroot risotto and Valhrona chocolate pave. After the food has gone down there’s no need to depart as the Roof Gardens Club is open every Friday and Saturday night until 3am. 3. Bedtime Story Nights at 40 Winks
For an evening with a difference head to 40 Winks on Mile End Road for an evening of cocktails in teacups, glamorous nighties and grown-up stories in an exquisitely designed venue. As soon as you step over the doorstep, David, the elfish host, will whisk you away into a fairytale-like world full of mystical tales. But be warned: the events are addictive! Prizes are given to the best dressed and the evening is always full of surprises. Stay in a nearby Travelodge for a comfortable slumber after a magical evening of fantasy and fun.
4. The Royal Opera House
For a cultural night out with the girls, visit The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and see a ballet or opera, guaranteed to leave you feeling on a high. Anthony Dowell’s Swan Lake, showing from February to April, promises to be a beautiful production whilst the upcoming Madama Butterfly will undoubtedly be a very different but equally breathtaking show.
