Between coast and country at Marjon University

Formerly known as the University of St Mark & St John, Plymouth Marjon University is situated on the northern fringes of Plymouth between Dartmoor and the south Devon coast.

This small campus, in Derriford, is next to Plymouth's teaching hospital and a range of state-of-the-art sports facilities. Also on the university's doorstep is Plymouth Science Park, home to over 80 tech, digital and science businesses.

Unwind at The Barbican

The cobbled streets and narrow lanes around Plymouth's waterfront will transport you back to some of the most famous events in history. The departure of the Pilgrim Fathers on the Mayflower, and the send-off for explorers Scott of the Antarctic, Captain Cook and Charles Darwin all took place here. The area is also home to the Plymouth Gin Distillery, a former monastery inhabited by Black Friar Monks.

Dotted among the historic Tudor and Jacobean buildings are modern boutique shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants, which fizz with energy at night.

Explore delectable Dartmoor

You're perfectly placed for exploring Dartmoor National Park here. Ponies wander the moor, and there are loads of other wildlife-spotting opportunities, as well as activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, mountain biking and horse riding to enjoy.
