Torpoint - bridging the Devon-Cornwall divide

Located on the Rame Peninsula in Cornwall, Torpoint sits on the opposite side of the River Tamar's Hamoaze estuary to Plymouth in Devon. Ferry services between the two areas are thought to have been going strong since 1791, with the transport actually operated on a fixed chain line on the bed of the river.
