Hadley Wood, north London's hidden gem

Hadley Wood is a north London suburb, close to Hertfordshire. Its large railway station means it has excellent links to the centre of the capital and beyond, so is popular with commuters. Good schools are also in the area, and its proximity to the West End (Charing Cross is approximately 11 miles away) means there's always plenty to do on the doorstep.

Aping around in Enfield

Enfield is just a short drive from Hadley Wood, and is home to Go Ape, an adventure park set high in the treetops of a local forest. There visitors are equipped with a safety harness, enabling them to explore the canopy and swing from tree to tree, just like apes do in the wild. Don't worry about health and safety issues - each visit starts with a 30 minute briefing and training session, so nobody is ever in danger.

The West End's cultural highlights only a stone's throw away

It takes less than 20 minutes by rail to get from Hadley Wood to Leicester Square in the heart of London's theatreland, so there's no excuse for not seeing a great play or musical while you're in the area. The National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery are also Nearby for culture vultures to enjoy.
