Lee - an overlooked area that's springing back to life

Situated in south-east London, within Lewisham and Greenwich, Lee has always been popular with celebrities. Actor Jude Law is a current resident, and in the past, musician Manfred Mann and comedian Max Wall once lived there. Although not as well known as some London suburbs, Lee is undergoing a new lease of life thanks to boutiques, cafes and art galleries springing up all around.

Be at one with nature at Greenwich Park

Less than two miles from Lewisham, Greenwich Park is one of the capital's most famous areas of natural beauty. Its 183 acres serve as sanctuary for animals including foxes, deer and birds, so don't forget to take some binoculars with you. Explore the Planetarium and Observatory, and there's also plenty for kids too, including a play area, puppet shows and special workshops.

Discover the history of life on the ocean waves at the National Maritime Museum

Also less than two miles away, you'll have 500 years of Britain's history at sea at your fingertips inside the National Maritime Museum. Highlights include a chance to see the uniform Nelson was wearing when he was shot - complete with bullet hole, and the Great Map, offering fascinating multi-sensory experiences for all the family.
