Alight at Basingstoke train station for Hampshire's bustling main town

Basingstoke railway station is a busy hub offering train services to and from London, Bournemouth, Birmingham and further north up to Manchester. With five platforms, a cash point, car parking and the chance to get a cup of coffee and a pastry, alight here for access to Hampshire including the busy town of Basingstoke itself and Nearby beauty spots such as historic Winchester, only a quarter of an hour away by train.

Walk two minutes from the station and you can be at Festival Place, which has more than 200 shops plus restaurants, a cinema and Basingstoke Sports Centre - with a pool - and Basingstoke Discovery Centre which houses the town's library. The Anvil, also very close, hosts big name acts such as comedian Jason Manford or if you're a more adventurous sort head to Basingstoke Leisure Park where you can do anything from indoor skydiving to ice skating. The park's also home to Milestones Museum with its historic streets and 1940s sweet shop sure to be a hit with everyone. While in town don't miss a walk around the beautiful Eastrop Park with its tree trail and boating lake.
