The small Berkshire village of Aldermaston is set in some of England's prettiest countryside and is a great starting point for visiting the surrounding area, which includes the beautiful Kennet & Avon canal and the Nearby North Wessex Downs, classified an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Fans of the hit TV series Downton Abbey will love to visit Highclere Castle, under half an hour's drive from here. Please note though: it's closed on Fridays and Saturdays. Meanwhile the Nearby Bucklebury Farm Park offers plenty of fun for everyone with deer and other creatures plus indoor and outdoor play areas. Nearby too is The School of Jewellery and Craft, made famous by TV's Kirstie Allsopp, where you can book a range of making courses. Rainy day? The Leisure Park at Basingstoke isn't far and offers skating, bowling, swimming, golf and even indoor skydiving.
