A journey into Kent Life

The open-air museum of Kent Life on the northern outskirts of Maidstone is a must for anyone interested in the agricultural heritage of this part of the world. It affords a glimpse of a rural England of yore, a bucolic scene in which hop farms, herb gardens, plum orchards and thatched barns punctuate the landscape. There's even a faithful recreation of a blacksmith's forge.

Take in a round of golf

Cobtree Manor Park Golf Course, just north of Kent Life, offers excellent value golf with USGA-specification greens and stunning water features. The 18-hole par-69 course is a good challenge to all but the most experienced golfers.

Explore merry Maidstone

There's plenty to do in Kent's county town, ranging from museums and galleries to shopping - it's been ranked in the top five shopping centres in the South East - and eating out. Maidstone Museum & Bentlif Art Gallery is well worth a visit, while young ones might enjoy the Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats, or the Go Ape adventure park at Leeds Castle. Looking for a cheap hotel Near Kent Life? Travelodge Maidstone Central Hotel and Travelodge Medway M2 Hotel are both convenient, while Travelodge Chatcham Maritime Hotel, under 10 miles north, offers excellent views over the River Medway.
