South East countryside and history

The South East of England wraps around London and offers beautiful countryside for brisk walks as well as cultural visits to loads of castles, manor house museums and historical landmarks. With easy access to the coastline, take in the south coast white cliffs or some of the beautiful bays in Kent.

A coastal spot in Kent

Take a visit along the characterful Kent coastline and spend an afternoon at Whitstable Bay. Whilst the kids are armed with buckets and spades try out some spectacular seafood and locally sourced ales in this cool town. For food connoisseurs, take a visit to one of the delicious Oyster bars that can be found along some of the streets stemming back from the bay.

900 years of history

Take a trip the beautiful Leeds Castle, built in 1119 in Norman times. Enjoy an audio tour around the various historical exhibits in Henry VIII's former place of residence during his first marriage with Catherine of Aragon. If the kids need to run of some steam, there are well maintained playgrounds and a maze to play in.
