Didcot - a most 'normal' English town

From ardent trainspotters to Thomas the Tank Engine fans, the railway town of Didcot has much to offer people of all ages. Didcot Railway Centre is home to Great Western Railway Society's unique collection of steam engines, as a former engine-shed and locomotive stabling point, and it also hosts events, steamdays and galas. The Oxfordshire town has been crowned the 'most normal' in Britain for 2017 - far from a ciritcism though, the award is given to towns depicting typical English life in the most accurate fashion.

A day out at The Orchard Centre

You can shop 'til you drop in the Didcot Mall with its high street favourites and discount stores. If you need to refresh, the centre has a small handful of bakeries and eateries, or you can put your feet up and watch the latest blockbuster at the multiplex cinema.

A walk with hawks

If you fancy trying something a little different, the Hawkwalk does exactly what you would expect, and you can handle birds of prey in the Oxfordshire outdoors. Learn all about the hawks, owls and falcons from the knowledgeable handlers and then enjoy the glove-to-glove experience which is one in a million. Looking for a cheap hotel in Didcot?
